PROJECTS
A three month teaching module at the 'Willem de Kooning Academy' in
which students explored possible physical extensions of the self. Should
these extensions augment or handycap? Should they affect you or those
around you? The resulting extensions were built from existing objects
that were re-purposed. Students looked into how things work, cracked
things open, worked with the physical leftovers of planned obsolescence,
and re-incarnated old components.
The Eclectic Tech Carnival (/etc) is a gathering of women interested in
open source technology. Trinknics was a short workshop in which
participants made accessories with broken electronic appliances of
sentimental value.
Miss Despoinas Hackspace is an artistic collective who's aim is to use
recycled computers and free software to bring a broader and more
creative access to technology. Trinknics was a workshop given as the
inauguration of the hackspace in which participants made accessories
with broken electronic appliances of sentimental value.

Electromagnetic Cityscape at
NAPRAVI ME
Make me! festival featured a series of workshops on building and using
different DIY devices with a critical reflection on the presence of
technology in public space. 'Electromagnetic Cityscape' was two-day
workshop in which participants built a wearable 'sniffing' device (from
re-purposed objects) that makes electromagnetic fields audible.
LiWoLi is an open lab and meeting spot for artists, developers and
educators using and creating FLOSS (free/libre open source software) and
Open Hardware in the artistic and cultural context. Liwoli, do you copy?
was two-day workshop in which participants built a wearable device (from
re-purposed objects) that makes electromagnetic fields audible and
explored the invisible fields of Linz.

This iteration of the 'Electromagnetic Cityscape' was one-day workshop in which participants built a wearable 'sniffing' device (from re-purposed objects) that makes electromagnetic fields audible. This workshop was part of the piksel11 [link here to piksel11] program, the 9th annual Piksel Festival for Electronic Art and Technological Freedom. The workshop was covered by the Norwegian news channel NRK - check it out

Körperspule at
Kiberpipa
[05-10/03/2012, Ljubljana, SLO]
A workshop for the Ljubljana edition of Eclectic Tech Carnival – /etc – organized by Kiberpipa. /etc is a gathering/skill-share of women interested in FLOSS and hardware. In this iteration of Körperspule participants experimented with building their own BSMs (Body Surface Mount), using malleable copper sheets to build the circuit onto the body. It was a lot of fun, and we are proud to say: all BSM's worked on the very first try! Go girls!

MAKE ME ECLECTIC at Vienna's Museums Quartier
Körperspule is a variation onthe 'Electromagnetic Cityscapes' workshop in which participants are given the choice to either build an amplifier with a pre-designed PCB, or to construct the circuit by using strips of thin copper. The result of the later can be designed to fit and extend over one's body and 'mounted' onto clothing. We dubbed this 'Body Surface Mount' (BSM). Actually Danja Vasiliev thought of it : ) At the Make Me Eclectic Festival, participants did not have time to tackle this new possibility so they built the circuits using the Roger10-4 PCBs.

[19-26/05/2013, Athens, GRE]
A workshop for the Datenspiel/Dataplay series organized by Daphne Dragona and the Goethe Institute. Dataplay was a cluster of workshops about networks, data and their invisible flows in the urban environment. It aimed to explore the contemporary hybrid city of Athens. In this iteration of Körperspule participants experimented with building their own BSMs (Body Surface Mount), using malleable copper sheets to build the circuit onto the body.

Field Sweeper Inc. at
Transmediale 'Afterglow'
[24/01-02/02/2014, Berlin, GER]
Field Sweeper Inc. detects electro-magnetic fields by making them audible. Through mountains of electronic waste we imagine the field sweeper scavenging the last bits of surviving electronics, listening for the dying peeps.
Field Sweeper Inc. was made during ArtHackDay exhited at HKW
